William and Jeff Hatcher launched the business with a mission to deliver exceptional quality and craftsmanship to South Florida’s construction industry.

William Hatcher
President & CEO
William Hatcher, Founder and President of Hatcher Construction & Development, brings over 30 years of unparalleled knowledge, experience, and passion to the construction industry. A graduate of Florida Atlantic University with a degree in Construction Management, William also holds a State of Florida General Contractor License and certification in Construction Quality Management.
William’s journey began in the early nineties when he purchased and renovated old homes for resale, an experience that instilled in him a deep respect for craftsmanship, hard work, and perseverance. This hands-on foundation shaped his dedication to quality and his vision for building something greater, ultimately leading him to establish Hatcher Construction & Development, Inc.
Over the decades, William has built a reputation not only as a skilled builder but also as a leader who leads by example. He remains actively involved in every phase of each project, from pre-construction to closeout, ensuring that every project meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and performance. His expertise spans modular construction, complex project delivery, and large-scale developments, making him adept at managing challenging projects with precision and care.

Jeff Hatcher
General Manager
Jeff Hatcher serves as Vice President and Project Manager at Hatcher Construction, bringing a rare combination of strategic leadership and hands-on construction expertise to every project. With 24 years of experience with the Hatcher team, he has developed a reputation for orchestrating complex projects while keeping every team member, subcontractor, and stakeholder aligned and on track.
A central focus of Jeff’s role is managing subcontractors across diverse trades. He ensures that each partner meets rigorous quality standards, adheres to schedules, and collaborates seamlessly with field and office teams. His keen eye for detail, proactive problem-solving, and clear communication allow him to anticipate challenges before they impact the project, keeping construction moving efficiently from groundbreaking through closeout.
Beyond the day-to-day oversight of individual projects, Jeff plays a vital role in guiding Hatcher’s operational strategy and supporting the company’s growth initiatives. His ability to balance high-level planning with on-the-ground execution ensures that every project is not only completed safely and on time but also reflects Hatcher Construction’s commitment to excellence.
In addition to his project leadership, Jeff is passionate about mentoring emerging professionals within the company. Byron Black
Senior Project Manager
Byron Black currently serves as Hatcher’s Construction Senior Project Manager. A seasoned construction professional with over 24 years of industry experience, Byron brings comprehensive expertise in project management, cost estimating, and the successful delivery of complex construction projects.
Byron joined Hatcher in 2015 as an Estimator and has consistently demonstrated the ability to take on greater responsibility while expanding his professional experience within the industry. He embraces a collaborative, team-oriented approach to provide the best value and outcomes for all stakeholders. His strong analytical skills, extensive experience, and keen attention to detail positively impact project budgets, schedules, and overall success.
As an Estimator, Byron developed a deep understanding of architectural drawings, which translated into effective collaboration and successful negotiations with project teams.
In his current role, Byron leads both residential and commercial projects from kickoff through closeout. He oversees budgets, schedules, subcontractor performance, and client satisfaction, successfully blending hands-on field oversight with professional-level planning and documentation.
Under his leadership, every project is delivered safely, efficiently, and profitably, with clear communication across field teams, office staff, architects, and owners. Byron’s ability to unite people, systems, and expectations ensures high-quality outcomes that reinforce Hatcher’s standard of excellence.
